It's More than Educating, It's Equipping

Educating is good. Books, lectures, films, rallies and speakers impart great information but if that's all it took to get people to do what they should do, all Christian couples would be in wonderful shape! Sadly, we know that's not true.

Typically churches resort to counseling if education doesn't work. But that jump is broader than is necessary for most couples.

Christian counselors aren't stemming the tide for two crucial reasons. First, they are often overwhelmed with too many couples who need help. Second, they aren't even approached by all the couples who need assistance because many couples who need help won't go for counseling.

The new mentoring programs used by some churches are a step in the right direction but the downside is that mentor couples can work with only a few couples at a time.

Our powerful way of working with couples reaches more couples than mentoring and relieves the overwhelming burden for ministers and therapists besieged by couples needing help. It accomplishes much more than merely educating through books, tapes, classes or lectures. We call it equipping.
